Paul Sturkey

Growing up in a family of food lovers (his father was the Chef of the famous Tangier restaurant and his mother a home economics teacher), Paul Sturkey fell in love with cooking from a young age. After graduating from the University of Akron with a degree in Hospitality Management, Chef Sturkey honed his distinctive culinary style at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York. Arriving in Cincinnati, Chef Paul was on the opening team of the Westin Hotel and then moved on to create the Greater Cincinnati Culinary Arts Academy. Pursuing his passion even further, Chef Sturkey opened The Restaurant at the Phoenix to national acclaim and numerous awards, including a Top Ten Restaurant in America recognition in Esquire Magazine. Then came a steady string of hits: Pigall’s Café in downtown Cincinnati, STURKEY’S (opened by Paul and his pastry Chef wife, Pam), and, recently, MESH restaurant, where Chef and Pam Sturkey gained national and international acclaim for their culinary talent and guest-first approach to customer service. On top of his current position as the Culinary Development Chef and Special Projects Coordinator for The Kroger Company, Chef Sturkey also owns PS at your Service, a consulting firm that covers the gamut in food and beverage operations, and MitMar Dressings LLC, which features a line of retail gourmet salad dressings and spices available throughout the US.
